Bromsgrove MP, Sajid Javid, met with students from Lickey Hills Primary School on World Book Day to celebrate the importance of reading.
The MP took questions from the students, who were dressed for the occasion in fancy dress outfits of their favourite characters.
World Book Day was created by UNESCO on 23rd April 1995 as a worldwide celebration of books and reading. It is marked in over 100 countries around the globe.
World Book Day 2023 encouraged children of all ages to come together to share the joy of reading for pleasure.
Sajid Javid MP said:
“It was great to speak to Lickey Hills Primary School on World Book Day. Reading can change young people’s lives for the better and is proven to raise education standards for all. I was happy to hear that The Famous Five are still inspiring lots of children to be adventurous!”
