Bromsgrove MP, Sajid Javid, discussed the need for greater mental health support in both the public sector and the corporate world at a Q&A with staff at Mishcon De Reya.
In a full function room, with people attending virtually, at Mishcon’s central London office, the former Health Secretary discussed the need for both corporate and government responsibility in suicide prevention. Mr Javid also reiterated his commitment to the Suicide Prevention Plan that he outlined in Government, and which the current Government has recently re-committed to publishing.
The Q&A was organised in conjunction with Time to Talk Day 2023 - a day devoted to the discussion of mental health which is promoted by Mind.
Mr Javid commented that: “It was a pleasure to attend Mishcon De Reya’s forum today, and to discuss what can be done in both the corporate world and public sector to improve mental well-being and suicide prevention - especially on Time to Talk Day.
I would like to thank Mishcon, and Anju who interviewed me, for such a thoughtful, open and brave conversation on this topic.”
