Bromsgrove MP Sajid Javid has welcomed the Government’s announcement confirming additional support for Bus Service Improvement Plans across Worcestershire.
An estimated £3,433,000 has been allocated to Worcestershire County Council for the next financial year (2024/25) to improve bus services in the region.
The new funding is in addition to the £1.1 billion for Bus Service Improvement Plans announced in 2022 and 2023, as well as the £300 million to protect and enhance bus services announced in May this year.
The support will be given directly to local authorities who will work with local providers to decide how to deliver better services that meet the needs of each local area.
Commenting Sajid Javid MP said:
“I strongly welcome the Government’s announcement confirming additional support for Bus Service Improvement Plans across Worcestershire.
The additional £3.4 million in additional funding will make a real difference to services across Worcestershire.
I know how important improvements to bus services are to commuters and residents here in Bromsgrove. This funding is going to deliver that.”
