Bromsgrove MP, Sajid Javid, has welcomed the news that schools in Bromsgrove District will receive an overall 5.1% total funding increase, with pupil-led funding also increasing by 4.6% on average.
The funding increase - which will come into effect in 2021-22, builds upon the biggest cash boost to schools funding in a decade announced last year, worth a total of £14.4bn over three years.
Schools are already benefiting from a £2.6bn increase this year, which will rise to £4.8bn in 2021-22 and £7.1bn in 2022-23, compared to 2019-20.
This additional funding will increase pupil-led funding in primary schools by an average of 5.6% in Bromsgrove District, with Secondary school students receiving an average increase of 3.8%.
Bromsgrove MP, Sajid Javid said:
“This has been a challenging period for students, staff at schools and parents, but this additional funding is certainly welcome news”
“Through the additional support of the £1bn catch-up plan, the Government is backing schools and the students most disadvantaged by this crisis”
“There is still more to do to support our students, and I will continue to work on behalf of local students, parents and school staff to help.”
