Projects worth a combined £820,000 have been given the go-ahead in Bromsgrove District, with the Prime Minister calling for Britain to “Build, Build, Build”.
In his speech in Dudley, at the end of June, the Prime Minister pledged to back local authorities with funding to invest in priority infrastructure projects. Projects in Worcestershire worth £12million have been provided funding.
The share of the £900m ‘Getting Building Fund’ for Bromsgrove District will be used to invest in improvements to the A456 in Hagley and Low-Carbon Housing at Burcot Lane, Bromsgrove.
The new residential development of 61 houses on Burcot Lane will receive a £610,000 investment to improve energy efficiency, as part of a low-carbon project.
And improvements to the A456 will receive £210,000, aimed at improving journey times. This scheme will involve upgrades to Kidderminster Road/Worcester Road and Birmingham Road/Stourbridge Road/Kidderminster Road junction.
Local MP, Sajid Javid, said “This additional investment is great news and will help improve local infrastructure, drive local growth and support jobs”
“This has been a challenging period, but through backing local businesses and workers, this investment will help to secure the strongest possible recovery”
