LAST week we marked Holocaust Memorial Day.
In Parliament, I was honoured to lead the House of Commons debate and meet with the inspiring survivors of genocide during a ceremony led by The Speaker.
We must never forget the horrors of the Holocaust and persecution, and each year it is right that we recommit ourselves to ‘Never Again’.
In connection with my work on suicide prevention, I was also pleased the Government has recommitted to publishing the Suicide Prevention Plan.
This is an extremely important piece of cross-government work, and having spoken to many of my constituents about it, I know there is strong support for getting it published.
Locally, I was very pleased to see improved employment figures, with 285 more people in work at the end of last year compared to the previous year.
I also took the opportunity to help volunteer at Bromsgrove Sporting FC, to assist with match day preparations.
Sadly, my input didn’t result in a win – as their game against AFC Rushden and Diamonds was postponed!
Alongside numerous surgery meetings, I also had the chance to visit Clent Primary School to speak to the fantastic staff and pupils about local democracy.
As always, if any of my constituents have any concerns or issues that they wish to contact me about, I can be reached at sajid.javid.mp@parliament.uk
